Ask This Old House Comes To Town: Somerville

David: This article is written by Elyse Andrews of the Someville Beat.

A few months ago, I got a call from a Somerville resident (and dear friend) that she and her 100-year old home were going to be featured on an episode of Ask This Old House. To say I was excited would be a major understatement as I?ve been a huge fan of the show for years.

I got to attend the filming and snap some photographs of the show in action and tonight you can see what I did when the episode airs! Each PBS station sets its own schedule, so you can check here to find out when you can catch the episode. It?s #1114 of the This Old House Hour and is labeled with ?Repairing a cracked floor joist.?

My friends Meg and Adam have lived in Somerville for years and purchased a home near Magoun Square in 2010. Since then they?ve been fixing up the 100-year-old house almost completely on their own ? though today they?ve got a little help from Tom Silva and the This Old House crew! You can follow their adventures on their blog Operation Restoration. And if you can?t catch the show tonight, you can watch it here five days after it airs.
