David: Who Is Your Favorite T.v. Home Improvement Personality?
Out of all the home improvement shows from yesteryear to today. Who do you respect the most? And please don’t say bob he is a host, a salesman at best.
For me it’s Tom Silva because he knows his stuff and can actually do it.

1) my hero Norm Abrams, I have his picture framed in my office.
Mike Holmes is just a blow hard, have you ever seen him work? neither have I. Anonymous

2) I like Tom Silva and Norm Abrams. They seem like trustworthy individuals. Mike Holmes comes off as a bit arrogant, but he does good work and looks out for the homeowner. I don’t think Bob Vila likes to get his hands dirty. I like to watch the Tool Belt Diva because Norma Vally is hot. DR_NC

3) See now I like Mike Holmes from Holmes on Holmes. I like the way he fixes stuff and shows people what happens when you try to do it cheaply. loverboy

4) I really like Mike Holmes. He really knows his stuff, and he can actually do the work, not just talk about it. What really impresses me is that unlike many other remodeling/improvement hosts, he’ll admit when he can’t do something, and bring in an expert in that field. Scott from Modesto

5) Norm, he has tons of talent with woodworking. Tom Silva is cool but I could sit and watch Norm build things all day. I dont like Bob Villa at all he kinda just watches poeple and talks to them. Kevin O’ Connor is pretty annoying on This Old House/ Ask This Old House. He always plays stupid and asks dumb questions when one of the other guys is working. Pancho Villa

6) Tim Taylor and Al Borland, hands down! gr8alarm

7) TIM the tool man Taylor, primarily because he was entertaining, and so honestly spoofed the way over done DIY show host bit.
Most DIY’er shows are totally scripted, well into theatrics, deeply researched by WRITERS, and over produced.
If I had to choose any of the noxious shows, it would be those from This Old House, on PBS.
